What is shiatsu?
In addition to acupuncture, People’s Community Acupuncture offers shiatsu in our clinic. Shiatsu is a unique form of Asian bodywork that helps to balance the flow of energy throughout your body. By using sustained pressure and gentle stretches, shiatsu accesses the energy pathways within the body to release blockages and restore the flow to depleted areas. The experience is profoundly relaxing, grounding and healing for your body, mind and spirit.
What does shiatsu treat?
Shiatsu is based on Chinese medicine and can benefit many physical and stress-related

You will need to wear soft, loose-fitting clothing such as sweats or yoga clothes. Your treatment will take place on a mat on the floor, with pillows and bolsters to support sensitive areas such as the neck, knees or ankles if needed. The session will address the whole body, with extra emphasis on resolving your primary complaint. Shiatsu is appropriate for all ages and body types.
